Please join us for DMTA's Winter Playathon, December 6 & 7 at the United Church of Chapel Hill, 1321 MLK Jr. Blvd, Chapel Hill, NC. Teachers sign up for a slot of either 30 minutes or 1 hour. Please reach out if you need a slot of 15 minutes or 45 minutes. Many teachers use that time as their regular studio recital, or an additional performance for interested students. Since this is close to the holidays, it can be fun to have a special holiday concert to celebrate the season! Please click here for more information about the Playathon if you are still new to the concept.

After signing up, let your students know that each performer is asked to contribute a minimum of $5 donation to the DMTA scholarship fund, which supports deserving students who otherwise would not be able to afford music lessons. The scholarship is a wonderful resource, and we encourage teachers to tell their studios about the scholarship, as you never know who might be in need of a little extra assistance. To donate and to find out more, visit http://durhammusicteachers.org/scholarship

A few weeks before I will reach out with a volunteer schedule for the event table. We ask that participating teachers commit to helping at the event table. You are present with the cash box and donation materials to encourage and facilitate donations. Plan on coming 30 minutes prior or 30 minutes after your scheduled time slot. If a teacher is unable to work at the table, please arrange for one of your student’s parents to stay in your place.
