StatementSam Marion has been teaching private piano in NC since 1971. He is an active member of DMTA, NCMTA, and MTNA. His teaching goals are to enable each student to have a lifelong love and appreciation for making music at the piano with the greatest of ease at the piano. Being a well-rounded musician enables the student to engage in a variety of different musical styles and skills. Repertoire, keyboard skills, sightreading, ear training, music history, and improvisation are all covered in the lessons. Mr. Marion is a founding teacher and a Certified Teacher of the Royal Conservatory Music Development Program in the United States. This program "provides a recognized standard of musical success through an effectively sequenced course of study from beginner to advanced levels."
He studied with Barbara Lister-Sink, world renown authority on the biomechanics of piano technique,at Salem College 2009-2013. He has been studying Alexander Technique ( since 2009.
